This week a client mentioned that it was a real struggle for her to reach around and do up her bra every-day.  If you don’t wear a bra, these exercises are really about shoulder mobility and flexibility which help with posture, golf swings and neck pain.

This is the third of a four weeks series focusing on common aches and pains that our clients have.  Neck stiffness can make it difficult to do everyday things like checking your blind spot while driving, link to poor posture and can lead to headaches. The neck is where I carry my stress and here is what I have found has helped:

Gardening often involves holding a position for long periods of time as well as lifting and carrying things. If your shoulders and neck aren’t flexible this work can cause strain and injury. Keep your shoulder relaxed when you are pruning and weeding and take regular breaks.

The most common reasons for neck pain include poor posture (chin forward too far), past injuries and over-training the chest and under-training the back.
