This week a client mentioned that it was a real struggle for her to reach around and do up her bra every-day.  If you don’t wear a bra, these exercises are really about shoulder mobility and flexibility which help with posture, golf swings and neck pain.

Tight hamstrings and hips are often the main issues for people that can’t reach their toes. Even if you can reach your toes notice if you arch your lower back to do it or if you can keep a flat back and reach them. Arching the back when reaching forward or down can put strain and cause back pain. Try these exercises to make touching your toes easier

Clients are often interested in doing yoga but are concerned that some of the poses will hurt their arthritic knees or will be too difficult for them. The Vintage Fitness personal training team is specialized to modify poses to make them work for every body. At its core yoga is about creating quiet space in your life and taking deep breaths.

The shoulder joint is a ball and socket joint that makes it amazingly mobile as well as at risk for injury. The focus of this 15 minute holiday workout is flexibility. Many of the exercises involve dynamic (moving) flexibility to burn off some of those holiday treats.

With the holidays fast approaching life can start to feel busy as well as very social with holiday dinners and drinks. A few Vintage Fitness personal training clients here in Toronto have asked me to create a series of 15 minute full body holiday workouts that they can do even on busy days.
