Del Can Now Get Up From the Floor With Ease!
He had gone on the floor to fix something, and he couldn't get back up. That's when Del's wife said enough is enough and decided to sign him up for Vintage Fitness. Now fast forward nine months Del can get up and down off the floor by himself without an issue!
When Del first started working with trainer and Registered Kinesiologist Ana Ferreira, he could barely stand up from a chair eight times. Now he can do multiple sets of weighted squats with ease. Through our personalized exercise program Del has seen decreases in swelling into his lower body, weight loss and an increase in muscle tone.
Del's flexibility, overall strength, endurance, and balance have also improved significantly. During stretching Del used to have frequent cramping because his muscles were so tight. Not only does this not happen anymore but Del has also commented that he feels more mobile! Del's cardiovascular endurance has significantly improved allowing him to comfortably walk for an additional 5-7 minutes on the treadmill compared to a few months ago. While improving balance is still very much a goal for Del, we have already seen progress. When he first started Del could only hold a tandem position (one foot in front of the other) for a few seconds at a time. Now he can hold this position for about 30 seconds, as well as he is able to perform more complex movements such as the lunge which require a great deal of balance. He has also seen improvements in strength throughout his body and is using heavier weights than he has in a long time.
One of the best accomplishments of all is that Del's outlook on exercise seems to have shifted.
Sometimes at the end of the session he will admit just how good he feels and how he enjoyed the session.
“It's definitely worthwhile. Getting in shape takes time but its worthwhile. My clothes fit better, and I feel better. I found muscles I forgot I had.” says Del.
