Meet Julia: Your New In-Home Personal Trainer for Seniors in South Etobicoke & Mississauga

We are glad to introduce the newest member of the Vintage Fitness team: Julia De La Cruz, now offering in-home personal training for seniors in South Etobicoke and south Mississauga. If you have been looking for a trainer who comes to your door, listens carefully, and knows how to build strength and balance safely, we think you are going to enjoy getting to know her.
A Registered Kinesiologist Who Comes to You
Julia is a Registered Kinesiologist, which means she is a regulated health professional trained in how the body moves and how to exercise safely around injuries and health conditions. That background matters when you are older and want to feel sure that every exercise is right for you.
Before joining Vintage Fitness, Julia spent time in a clinical setting working alongside physiotherapists. There she designed exercise programs for people recovering from injury and provided assisted stretch therapy. She has carried that careful, rehab-minded approach into her work with older adults.
Her certifications round out that experience. Along with being a Registered Kinesiologist, Julia is BoneFit Trainer certified, a Fascial Stretch Therapist (Level 2) through the Stretch to Win Institute, and a CanFitPro Personal Training Specialist. She speaks English, along with some Spanish.
Julia has been active in sport her whole life, and she noticed early on how much movement improved her mood and her confidence. That is what led her to study kinesiology. "My favourite part of this work is watching someone regain confidence in how they move," she says. For older adults, that shift often changes how they feel about the whole day ahead.
Movement That Keeps You Doing What You Love
Julia's approach is safe, personal and practical. Rather than pushing a fixed routine, she builds each program around your goals, your health history and your comfort level, then works at a pace that feels right to you.
Every client starts with a proper assessment. From there, Julia chooses exercises that connect to your everyday life, whether that is getting up from a chair more easily, carrying groceries, walking the dog, or keeping up with grandchildren. As your strength and movement improve, she adjusts the program so it keeps moving forward without ever feeling rushed.
Strong Bones, Steady Balance, Confident Movement
Two areas where Julia brings real depth are bone health and flexibility. Her BoneFit certification means she is trained to work safely with clients who have osteoporosis or low bone density, using exercise that strengthens bone and muscle while avoiding the movements that raise fracture risk. For many older adults, that is exactly the kind of informed, cautious guidance that makes exercise feel possible again.
As a Fascial Stretch Therapist, Julia also helps clients move more freely and comfortably. Gentle, assisted stretching can ease stiffness, improve range of motion, and make daily tasks feel lighter. Paired with balance and strength work, it adds up to steadier footing and more confidence on the stairs, in the garden, or out on a walk.
Serving South Etobicoke and South Mississauga
Julia provides in-home personal training for seniors across South Etobicoke and south Mississauga. In Etobicoke that includes Mimico, New Toronto, Long Branch, Alderwood, Stonegate-Queensway and Humber Bay Shores. In Mississauga she serves the Lakeview, Port Credit and Mineola areas.
She comes to you, so there is no gym to travel to and no equipment to buy. Every session is built around your home, your abilities and your goals.
When she is not training clients, Julia enjoys hiking, Pilates, antique hunting and baking, so do not be surprised if a conversation about staying active turns into swapping recipes.
