My husband, Stan, has a disease that’s related to Parkinson’s disease. When he could no longer drive, he told me that missed being able to go for his daily workouts at the community centre. That was when I contacted Vintage fitness and he began training at home with Cristina. The goal is to keep him as strong as possible for as long as possible.
Stan was enjoying working with a personal trainer so when COVID 19 forced Vintage Fitness to conduct their classes online, I convinced him to continue his training online even though he prefers talking to people in person.
Now, Cristina and I have become a team. I help Stan with his balance problems and proper exercise form at home while Cristina models the exercises from her home. I appreciate Cristina’s expertise as she is able to adjust the exercises to accommodate Stan’s changing ability to perform them. I also keep her informed of Stan’s particular needs. For example, the classes contain many exercises to maintain flexibility in Stan’s joints since disease is gradually causing them to stiffen. Cristina also allows time for resting between exercises even though Stan insists he doesn’t need to rest.
Stan won’t experience an actual increase in his fitness level, which has always been very good. For him, success will be measured in how well he can slow down the toll disease is taking on his body. Thank you, Cristine for helping him to do this."
The decision to sign up with Vintage Fitness (after 50 years of no fitness activity) proved to be a very good one. I’m paired with Dave, an ideal match (at least in my opinion…. ) Dave is incredibly knowledgeable and caring at the same time. The personalized program he designed for me really helped me gain some of the mobility back I had lost due to arthritis and I’m still improving. Dave keeps me motivated and I’m now looking forward to our work-out sessions, something I never imagined that would happen. Thanks Dave (& Vintage Fitness)
Tarun is taking pride in his work.
He has helped my husband to get the strength he needed to get strong and balance his body. My husband has early stage of Dementia and Tarun is very patient to work with him.
My father-in-law, Jim, suffered from pneumonia before Christmas. He was hospitalized for almost two months, and at 100 years old, everyone wrote him off as being on death’s doorstep. He was put into palliative care. His daughter, Lee, took him into her home to make his last days comfortable; he was living independently in his own condo before his illness.
Since Jim had been in good health before, Lee was not content to see him waste away through inaction. She had faith in his ability to recover. She got him to exercise a little, but soon realized she needed professional help to motivate him and exercise all the different muscles that would lead him back into a semblance of independent living.
She contacted Vintage Fitness, and they sent her Dee, a dynamo of a fitness instructor who could relate to the ageing process because she was in her seventies herself. Dee not only knew the exercises Jim needed to build up his muscles, but through the force of her engaging personality, she was able to motivate him to make that effort.
Though Dee came only once a week, she worked out an exercise regimen that Lee could help Jim follow during the interval between visits. These exercises were all based on objectives directed towards making Jim more independent.
In the beginning, Jim, could not get out of bed and to go to the bathroom by himself; Lee or one of her sisters always had to help and supervise. After a few months of exercise, he was able to go to the bathroom and take care of his own needs. This new level of independence raised his self-esteem and more importantly, his desire to continue to work and regain as much independence as possible.
While I was visiting, Jim passed a major milestone; he, went outside, down the front stairs (7 steps), and walked outside on the sidewalk. Since then, Lee has informed me that he has walked even further outside, and even got in and out of her car. The next milestone is to go for a visit back to his condo.
This improvement in Jim’s abilities and his enhanced quality of life is not a miracle, rather, it’s the fruit of Jim’s hard work, made possible by Dee’s exercise knowledge and her ability to motivate him through her optimism, enthusiasm, and engaging personality.
I have been working virtually with Mais Elyyan for approximately six months and trust her expertise and guidance. She remains aware and alert to positioning during the various exercises in spite of my small iPad screen. always my program is geared to my needs and she will adjust the program on a minutes notice whenever needed.
I trust in her knowledge which she readily shares, in her advise and in her caring that I have success. Consequently, at 80 years old I am stronger, more agile than I have been in several years and would miss my workout time with her if not available.

I have been working with Dave and it has been the best physical healing/fitness relationship I have ever had. I have had issues with my back for over 30 years, and have been very limited in the last few years in what I can do athletically. In only a couple of months working with David I have reduced my pain by well over 70%, and I'm building strength and enjoyment of my body and movement again. I'm building a new foundation. David's knowledge is deep, and his ability to share it is very effective. He's diligent and friendly, and I get the impression everything he gives me to do is for a very specific purpose that benefits me. He's also great with goal setting, and writing up workouts for me to do while keeping things fresh. I highly recommend him and Vantage. For me there is no doubt it is a worthwhile investment in my wellbeing. In addition, the onboarding and business processes are well managed.
I've been training with Vintage Fitness for over three months now, and I'm really glad I joined. My daughter convinced me that at my age (67), I should give physical exercise a priority. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after seeing the results after just three months, I'm glad I followed her advice. Tarun has been a great guide and coach throughout my journey.
I would like to thank Bill for his hard work, to raise my limits and keep challenging me.
Well done, Bill."
Bill is wonderful- I can't say enough good things about him. I am so pleased with my personal training with him and with the results that I am achieving."
One month ago I started exercising with Mariela as my trainer.
Not having exercised for a long time I was apprehensive but when I met and got to know Mariela I knew that she was the perfect coach for me.
She is professional yet kind, patient and understanding.
Her encouragement has given me the confidence that I needed to start this program.
After one short month I am pleased with my progress and feel assured that with her continued training and encouragement I would continue getting good results and attain my goal."
I am 66 years old with no medical conditions that would prevent me from participating in a physical fitness program. Cristina Teixeira was my personal trainer meeting twice a week. She created interesting workouts that allowed me to improve my upper body strength, flexibility and balance. Cristina was always pleasant while reminding me to maintain correct body position. I would recommend anyone who would like to improve their fitness to work with Cristina."
I have worked with Wendy for a number of years, and my sessions, despite post-chemo neuropathy and arthritic hips, make me feel so much better that I miss them when I am on holiday. Wendy brings a blend of skill and a friendly, pleasant manner to her work. I especially like that, owing in no small part to our sessions, I can still ski."
My father is very proud of himself and is committed to keeping it up.
This is the best money I have ever spent on a gift for my Dad.
I have no doubt that we'd be dealing with a much different situation if it weren't for Wendy and the relationship she built with him, the confidence she helped build in him, and the awareness of what he is still capable of at nearly 80 years old.
I can't thank both of you enough."
I also want to note that Wendy is a fabulous trainer, just the right combination of push and encouragement. And very adaptive to the materials and space at hand, as well as our individual needs."
Bill Ross has been my trainer for the better part of six months. I am 85 years old and had physical problems with back, left shoulder and left leg. Over a very short period, my aches and pains have disappeared, my flexibly and strength has improved immeasurably. I am able to manipulate my body in a way that I could not do before
I started with Bill. I am extremely grateful for his time, knowledge, help and patience. As a result I am feeling healthy and very fit."
Over the years, I have joined numerous gyms but nothing took. So when my children recently decided I needed a fitness program, I opted for a personal trainer. Erin assessed me and set up a personal program based on my age and my abilities. I quickly discovered that I was unlikely to follow it because I travel so frequently - so Erin modified the program.
I have been very impressed by her adaptability and knowledgeability. I don't have a cookie cutter routine; I have a personal one. Erin is also encouraging, always smiling and always ready to make useful suggestions and modifications. I would recommend this type of program to anyone looking for a personalized and flexible fitness regime."
I was amazed with the response and help I got from Erin in 2013 when I was looking for a PT for my 16 year old son who’s DS. His OT was about to discharge him from her services since she said that there wasn’t much more she could help him with (he’s totally independent and high functioning). However our major concern and a future goal for him was weight loss. His OT suggested a few websites and believe it or not only Erin responded promptly!!
After several discussions with Erin she was able to find – in hindsight I have to say – a perfect fit for him. Erin suggested Wendy Palmieri who’s been working with Reyaz for 19 months now. Wendy is just an amazing trainer who’s a very professional, kind and caring person. Reyaz looks forward to seeing her weekly and they have great sessions together. We’ve learned a lot from Wendy’s suggestions and insight and we’ve been very happy with this relationship so far. At times I think Reyaz and Wendy have too much fun during their sessions, but that’s the way she is – it has to be fun so that you enjoy what you’re doing but always in a professional manner.
I would recommend Wendy not only for what she specializes in – training over 50+, but anyone who’s got a disability and needs a caring trainer. Thank you both for being such wonderful professionals."
My husband and I have been recently working with Wendy Palmieri. She did a fantastic job of setting us up with an individual program which took into account our medical issues and fitness level but also the goals we had in mind. The program was easy to adopt and ramped us into a better level of fitness safely and without pain. Wendy is positive, encouraging and flexible. It’s terrific to be able to work with people who understand the special needs we older people have and can still achieve realistic improvements. We’ll be working with Wendy on an ongoing basis.
Thanks, Vintage Fitness!"
Meeting Mariela has been a life-changing experience for me. I had struggled with my weight and body image for decades before I met her and she really helped put things in perspective for me. Also, I have been in and out of gyms for the better part of the last decade; I would lose weight and put it all back on and then go through the same soul-crushing experience again. Working out with Mariela has helped me understand my body better, which was lacking when I worked out with male trainers; not that they were not good, but I felt they did not understand my body well enough and how it reacted to certain forms of exercise. With Mariela, I have made breakthroughs in understanding my own physical limits and, what works and what doesn’t, and structuring my workouts accordingly. She is not only very good at her job, but is an immensely compassionate and kind person. A great life-coach in the making! I recommend her highly."
You are a great trainer! You understand how to train someone who is not 22! You are patient, friendly and encouraging. I was more comfortable working with you than I've ever been with another trainer."
Wow! Wendy, you made me feel relaxed. You're completely unintimidating but still helped me to push myself. I truly appreciated how you'd check my form. I never once worried about injury. Your fitness knowledge is impressive."
Thank you for helping me get into a new and healthier lifestyle! I may never love working out, but you make the experience much more enjoyable. Your excitement and positive reinforcement for getting fit has rubbed off."
The gift certificate for Vintage Fitness from my daughter got me started on a wonderful journey that I wasn't expecting or asked for! I was hesitant at first but I can't believe the wonderful changes that have occurred. Working with Erin has given me the confidence to work at getting healthier through exercise, good diet and determination. I have lost weight, my blood pressure has dropped, I feel more energetic and best of all I am motivated to keep it up! I highly recommend Vintage Fitness and value Erin's expertise in knowing what is best for my body, updating my program and keeping me on track."
Vintage Fitness trainers motivated me to stick with my exercises, provided lots of variety including a few sessions in the condo pool and tracked my successes"
Training with you, Wendy, is so much fun! You challenge me but always find workarounds when my knees or shoulders are acting up. I'm now off all blood pressure medication. I even lost a few pounds. This is life changing!"
I have been struggling with a health issue for a number of years and therefore haven't been particularly successful with improving my physical abilities. I started working with Karel because of her professionalism and knowledge. We started out slowly and as a result, I was able to build up my stamina and greatly improve my strength. Our sessions were challenging but also very appropriate for my fitness level. I was especially impressed with her attention to detail and emphasis on using the proper form while performing the various exercises. Being a senior, she also stressed the importance of working on my balance. I have seen such great improvement and feel much healthier and happier as a result of our work together. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to better their quality of life to work with Karel for an improved fitness level. It's also important to note that not only is she encouraging but she has a good sense of humour and is kind."
Rita has been my personal trainer and a great motivator for a few years. The results I have achieved to date are largely due to Rita's perfect combination of diverse training methods and challenging yet achievable goal setting. She is a truly excellent personal trainer. She is skilled, thoughtful, sensible and a pleasure to work with and talk to. She works with the whole person - mentally, emotionally and physically. Because of her efforts, I am now stronger and happy with myself. Would highly recommend Rita to anyone!."
I have had 7 visits over a period of 2 months with Dr. Don on the recommendation of a friend who greatly benefited from his therapies. His diagnostic exam was the most thorough I had experienced in recent memory. He encouraged me to get X-rays to confirm his diagnosis, which they did. The resultant exercise program coupled with his laser machine and hands on therapies have improved my condition quite quickly. My pain has eased significantly, giving me hope for the first time in ages. I will continue to see him whenever I am in Toronto (I live out of town) for as long as he recommends and my body tells me is necessary. If your'e willing to heed his advice and follow his recovery program, you will improve quickly and build towards a healthier future."
I always look forward to my training sessions with Jen. She really takes the time to get to know you and understand your personal fitness goals. Her focus on proper form and technique really impressed me compared to other experiences with trainers. Most of all, we have a great time together which make the sessions go by quickly!"
Rob is an excellent trainer who listens carefully and pays close attention to personal needs and individual goals. He has a great sense of humour, puts people at ease and creates a comfortable environment for each of his clients.
Rob lets you work at your own pace, demonstrate a great deal of patience and treats all of his clients with respect. Rob makes exercise fun through laughter and plenty of positive reinforcement.
If you want to strengthen your body and build or rebuild confidence, Rob can help you with the skills you need. Don’t be afraid to take a chance and have some fun too."
Karel is cheerful, helpful and attentive. I like her very much. She notices how I am moving and gives lots of correction, feedback and praise. Karel has helped to improve my posture and strength and is a joy to work with."
Did you know that when I reached 57, I became worried about the years turning me into a big soft gummy bear? I might have pulled off 'cute' but I would not have been happy nor would I have respected myself. Instead, I reached out to Karel.
Thanks for your consistent encouragement and inspiring energy! You cheer me on as I reach and exceed new goals. Every session is new and challenging. Every large and tiny muscle is now alive and well. Every hour with you has been the very best investment in ME!
AND my arms are no longer jiggle when I wave goodbye at the door"
I have had chronic sinus problems for 20+ years. Dr. Don Fitz-Ritson has really helped to clear them up. After so long this has been a big relief for me. I also had a constant headache for 2+ years and within 2 or 3 treatments my headache cleared up.Thank you for your time, knowledge and patience."
Rob McCue has been my personal trainer for the past three years and has been my inspiration for my physical well being. He is very kind and understanding, especially of my age group which is a senior citizen and is mindful of my many aches and pains. He has been very diligently working on my balance which is very necessary as we get older and keeps me focused on my continued health and fitness. We work on what is the issue on that day and pushes me when necessary and knows when to back off.
Rob motivates me every time I see him and anyone would be very fortunate to have him on their side for their physical health."
I have been training with Jen for 8 months. I am very happy with the results. I have greater flexibility, more energy and I have lost weight. Before I saw Jen the aches and pains of aging were getting me down but now I feel more in control of my health. While I have worked with other trainers before Jen, she has been the best in motivating me and in helping me to reach my fitness goals."
I developed low back pain with left leg radiation to my ankle. MRI showed disc and cyst pathology at L5 - Sacral 1. I was booked for surgery. I visited Dr. Don and after his detailed examination, he said he could help. He did Laser, Dynamic Traction and Rehab Exercises. Three weeks ago, having only slight low back pain, I visited the Orthopaedic Surgeon and he did new MRI study, he said the MRI showed that the Dynamic Traction had taken the pressure from the disc and the laser had healed the cyst. No surgery was required. One happy patient."
Not quite as young as we used to be, we were looking for a personal trainer who could challenge us while at the same time, understanding the limitations of an older body. We both have been working with Karel for several months and she has been wonderful. She is always positive, energetic and motivating. She ensures every exercise is executed in the correct body position and alignment; she adjusts and modifies immediately if our arthritis starts to flare up; she follows up every exercise session with an email to ensure there are no post-workout issues. Our flexibility, range of motion, and core strength has improved greatly. With Karel’s knowledge and experience, we have been very pleased and would highly recommend her!"
Iam very happy with my experience with Vintage. My trainer Rob Mccue is excellent, he knows me well and gives me help in doing my training properly. I am so fortunate to have him.
Thanks "
Lorne Opler has been my personal trainer for in-pool training for some three months. He has been imaginative and creative in developing a program for me to improve my mobility, with the goal of enabling me to walk again following serious neck surgery. His work has aided my progress in improving my strength, balance, and coordination."
Marlee has been my personal trainer and yoga instructor for two years. She always takes the time before each session to ask how I am, if there is anything happening in my life that she should be aware of (aches, injuries, daily stresses) to ensure the workout meets my individual needs and personal goals. During each workout/class she takes the time to correct form, if necessary, and encourages you that you can “ push” a little harder to get the results you are striving for. She is right with you from beginning to end. After each workout with Marlee, I feel energized and any negative thoughts are put back in perspective. She is very dedicated and passionate about her profession and anyone who is trained/taught by Marlee will develop a healthier outlook on life. Feeling good and confident about yourself is a beautiful feeling…
thank you Marlee."
I was in a terrible place before I came to ATC. I had horrible lower back pain where I was kneeling on pillows in front of my desk during the work day, I couldn't drive for more than 20 min, or do anything athletic. I saw 4 different chiropractors, a physiotherapist and a masseuse. Nothing worked and I was growing desperate. I was then referred to Dr. Fitz-Ritson, and he changed my life... He got me back to 100%. I am now back to being able to sit in uncomfortable chairs, play golf, and squash. I really appreciate what he has done for me."
